Wanda Vanish (CJE) teaches journalism and advises publications in Altoona, PA. She earned her degrees from Penn State University and has advised student publications for 25 years for the Altoona Area School District. Vanish advises the Mountain Echo online paper and the Horseshoe Yearbook and previously served as adviser for the Blue and White/Livewire and Mixed Media literary magazine at Roosevelt Junior High School and Altoona Junior High School.  Vanish served as president of the Pennsylvania School Press Association (PSPA) from 2005-2008 and also served as newspaper critique chair, membership chair, and convention co-chair during her tenure with PSPA. Vanish served JEA on the local committee for the Philadelphia convention, was PA state representative until 2011 and was honored by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association in 2010 as a recipient of the Gold Key Award.
