Teresa Shaw (formerly Scribner) is a former award-winning media teacher at Cleveland High School in Seattle. She currently works for Seattle Public Schools as the Communications Manager. At Cleveland, Teresa taught multimedia and was the adviser for Cleveland Publications, the schools media program which oversaw the production of the school's yearbook, newspaper, news broadcast and website. Under her leadership, the program won numerous awards. In 2021, Shaw received the JEA Diversity Award. In 2016, she was named Washington state's Journalism Adviser of the Year and was a Dow Jones News Fund Special Recognition Adviser. She was also earned Journalism Education Associationís Rising Star Award. Before becoming a teacher, Shaw spent 17 years in the newspaper industry, working for newspapers in Arkansas and Texas. Twelve of those were spent working as a Visual Journalist for The Seattle Times.
