Steve was an assistant professor of journalism and mass communication and student media director at Valley City State University in Norwegian-rich North Dakota. Listopad received the HMH Foundationís First Amendment Award for Education for his work with students on crafting the John Wall New Voices Act of North Dakota. Prior to entering academia, Steve was a journalist for a daily newspaper, a military newspaper and the High Plains Reader, an alternative weekly in Fargo, N.D. While in Los Angeles, Listopad worked for New Line Cinema, in post-production and international publicity. He has experience teaching journalism and media students abroad in China; Nice, France; and Florence, Italy. Murray, Steve\\\'s six-year-old, is training to be a Lego master.
