Previous to starting a broadcast journalism program for middle school students at an independent, Montessori school in the 2017-2018 school year, I spent about 20 years working in television news as a producer, chief assignment editor and field producer for various networks in the NYC area, including NBC and Univision. I also spent a few years in digital journalism, working as a reporter and editor for a start-up health news site. Today, I continue to teach young teens the foundations of broadcast journalism, news production and news literacy, while also serving as a mentor for Report for America.
