About
Morgan Bricker advises Weir Student Media at Weir HS in Weirton, W.Va. where students produce a news website, yearbook, daily announcements, and senior video. She also serves as the JEA State Director for W.Va. and as blog coordinator for the JEA Scholastic Press Rights Committee. Her school was selected as a recipient of the First Amendment Press Freedom Award in 2024 and 2025, and Bricker was named First Amendment Leadership Award recipient in 2026. Outside of JEA, Bricker is the West Virginia Scholastic Media Association President and the District Lead Fellow for the News Literacy Project District Fellowship Program for Hancock County Schools. In 2023, she worked closely with the Student Press Law Center, WVJEA members and students to help pass New Voices legislation in W.Va. Bricker lives in New Cumberland, W.Va. with her husband, seven-year-old son, and two pups.
