Katie Baxter, MJE, is the Student Media Coordinator at Georgia Highlands College in Rome, GA. With 17 years of experience advising nationally award-winning K–12 scholastic journalism programs and serving on the boards of state and national scholastic press associations, she brings a wealth of expertise to her role. At Georgia Highlands College, Katie advises the Six Mile Post and the Student Spin podcast while teaching courses in Human Communication, Writing for Digital Media, and Introduction to Mass Media. Recognized as a 2024 Emerging Adviser for the College Media Association, she is passionate about storytelling and is committed to ensuring that every voice has the opportunity to be heard.
