Dr. Joe Mirando retired in May 2022 after completing a 40-year career as a professor at Southeastern Louisiana University. Dr. Mirando also served as a journalism teacher for St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Hammond, La. and for the Chemung County, N.Y. Social Services Department. He also worked as a reporter for four daily newspapers, a weekly newspaper and a magazine.
