I am a second career teacher and completed a teacher residency program through Summit Learning in Redwood City, CA to earn a secondary English credential in 2019. Previously, I worked professionally as the editor in chief of an expat family magazine in Shanghai, China, as well as a news reference coordinator and web show producer at Fox News Channel in New York City. Besides teaching journalism, I have a strong interest in teaching media literacy using my expertise from graduate media studies at NYU to empower students to be smart consumers of media, as well as skilled online researchers and fact checkers. As a high school and college student, I was active in student-produced newspaper publications, TV, and radio broadcasts. My experiences in student media shaped the direction of my professional career and I look forward to using my experience to provide real-world skills to guide students to navigate a diverse media landscape in high school and beyond.
