An award-winning journalist and teacher, Jackie Majerus co-founded the educational non-profit Youth Journalism International in 1994. Based in New England, YJI has students around the globe. Jackie loves working with young writers, artists and photographers, seeing life through their eyes and providing a quality journalism program that makes it possible for people worldwide to learn their stories.After a successful career as a reporter at daily newspapers in Illinois, New York and Connecticut, Jackie now dedicates all her efforts to Youth Journalism International. She is a graduate of The University of Iowa, a former Master Teaching Artist to young non-fiction writers at The Mark Twain House & Museum and a Rotarian.
