Gary Lindsay taught language arts and journalism at Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa from 1971 to 2011. His journalism publications and students were consistent winners in state and national contests. Lindsay served as president of the Iowa High School Press Association and as state director and Midwest Regional Director for JEA. The National Scholastic Press Association honored Lindsay with its Pioneer Award in 2013 and JEA awarded him with its Lifetime Achievement Award in 2015. In retirement, Lindsay continues to work as a consultant and as a mentor.
