I am in my 17th year of teaching (all 17 at Kaneland High School in Maple Park, IL), and this is now my seventh year as the journalism adviser. I also teach AP Lit and Comp, which I love. There are three levels to my journalism program, with first-year students having the title of reporters, second-year students having the role of editors, and third-year students ascending to the role of either manager or executive. In addition to teaching and advising, I'm a varsity boys basketball coach. My wife is a first grade teacher, and my three children are in elementary school in my district.
