Chris Waugaman, MJE, advised the Royals Media team at Prince George High School (VA) for 20 years, where his staffs won NSPA Pacemakers and CSPA Gold & Silver Crowns. The online site TRNWIRED.org was named to the Pacemaker 100 list in 2021. He was the Dow Jones News Fund National HS Journalism Teacher of the Year in 2014, CSPA Gold Key recipient in 2013 and the NSPA Pioneer Award recipient in 2020. Currently he is an assistant professor of journalism at Virginia State University and also advises The Virginia Statesman student newspaper.
