In my first two years of teaching, I advised the newspaper and yearbook for Fair Grove High School in rural Missouri. It was a whirlwind of competing demands and limited resources. Fifteen years later, I am overseeing the buzzing production room of Rolla High School, the backdrop of my own high school journalism experience and the place where I developed my belief in student voice.
