About

I am a journalist who started a journalism program at a Montessori middle school in South Florida to engage our youth with the mission of journalism and show the power of storytelling. I was named Journalist of the Year by the Society of Professional Journalists Florida chapter in 2014, but feel teaching journalism to middle school students may be the most important work I have ever done. I look forward to learning from JEA members as I work to grow my journalism program, inspiring students to stay curious, creative and ambitious, to search for truth and see dignity in all human beings, to act with integrity and empathy, to think independently and collaborate, as co-creators, to make our community stronger.
