I have 15+ years experience in public relations and marketing prior to joining LAUSD in 2014 as a 9th grade ELA teacher. In 2020 I started teaching 12th grade ELA. Also, I have enjoyed the perks of being a freelance writer for R&B music publications and corporate magazines where I profiled executives. In 2017, I was asked to start a journalism class at Hawkins HS. I started with one class and now I have two journalism classes. In 2024, I now have 3 journalism clssses with an emphasis on photojournalism.  We now have a SNO website, Podcasters, Video Broadcast and a Mental Health Magazine.  Students printed their first paper October 18, 2019. Kimberly Mesediah has been an inspirational mentor and advice from Adriana Chavira has been incredible.  How did I ever get so fortunate?
